See you at Camp This Summer!

There’s nothing like Summer in Chicago. Amazing street festivals, days spent enjoying Lake Michigan, barbecues with friends, and most importantly, NO SCHOOL!

As the snow begins to melt and the birds begin to chirp, we can’t help but start to daydream about long summer days. Summer is not only a time to unwind from the school year and enjoy the most beautiful season in the city, but it is also a time to try new things, to make new friends, and to discover new passions!

At Music House Summer Camp, we aim to expose campers to every aspect of the arts, from visual art, to rock and a variety of other instruments, to improv and theater, with the intention of guiding kids toward inspiration. Our camp motto is “try everything!” and when that motto is embraced, campers walk away having connected to the arts in one way or another.

Last year’s Young Artists Playhouse Camp exposed campers to art forms that many have chosen to continue pursuing. One young camper fell head over heels in love with theater and just performed in her first musical at Music House, Dear Edwina Jr. Another camper has continued with Music House as a violin student and has made significant progress in just one year of lessons! Each day, young artists left camp buzzing about the drum set they were going to build at home that night, or the props they were going to gather for the weekly camp performance, or the dance they had just learned. Overall, the vibe was exciting and inspiring.

As enticing as an entire summer of free time sounds, we all probably know that having some structure is good for us. Enrolling in camp, whether it be for one week or ten, provides structure to the day, while also allowing for social time, creative engagement and most importantly, fun!

We hope you consider enrolling your future artist in what will be a transformative time for them and their relationship with the arts. Everyone has the capacity to create. Everyone has the ability to try new things and push the boundaries of what they know and think.  Embrace the motto “Try Everything” and witness the magic that happens when your child encounters inspiration.
