Sam Massi
Sam Massi (she/they) is working towards a dual Bachelors degree in Philosophy and English/Creative Writing from Loyola University Chicago. There, her interests focus in theater, music, and working with a nonprofit for her social justice class. Sam has spent their entire life in front of a piano, with her family and teachers to help guide her. With their help, she has also found an interest in the violin, guitar, and ukulele, and is always looking for new challenges. Throughout the years, she has also had extensive vocal training and musical theater experience.
Sam loves teaching kids of any age, as long as they’re excited and willing to learn. They believe that the most important part of an education is having fun. Sam recognizes that if a student isn’t enjoying a class, they won’t put in the effort needed to succeed. She also heavily emphasizes respect and community in the classroom, to make a welcoming environment where kids feel comfortable to be creative. She wants to allow students to explore their interests, and in doing so, she will guide them to further their skills and technique. Sam is even excited to hear students make mistakes, because after working together to fix the issue, she will get to see their proud smiles after correctly playing their piece again.
