Emily Ann Brooks
Emily Ann Brooks (she/her) is a teaching artist, director, choreographer, and actor thrilled to be working with Music House. Regionally, she’s performed at the Marriott Theatre in Hello, Dolly! (Ermengarde), A Christmas Story, Big Fish, and The Wizard of Oz, and at Seattle’s Second Story Repertory (Anne in Anne of Green Gables), 5th Avenue Theatre, and Village Theatre. On the other side of the table, she’s assistant directed Lookingglass Alice at Lookingglass Theatre Company, and choreographed A Christmas Carol at Metropolis Performing Arts Center and The Fantasticks at Paradox Theatre Works. Emily graduated with honors from Northwestern University with a theatre major (focused on musical theatre performance and choreography) and world literature minor. Along with extensive choreography work for Northwestern’s mainstage, she directed and choreographed her senior honors thesis Going on Seventeen, which will be published this spring in the Northwestern Undergraduate Research Journal. With 13+ years of experience in theatre and dance, Emily is passionate about creating and teaching work that celebrates the unique creative voice and agency of each individual artist, encouraging confidence, empathy, collaboration, and a fearless sense of play
