The Chicago High School for the Arts (“ChiArts”)
2714 W. Augusta Blvd, Chicago, IL 60622
When arriving at ChiArts, head to the auditorium entrance and parking lot located a block east of our Humboldt Park location. To get there, turn east onto Cortez off of California. Continue for about a block and you’ll find the parking lot on your right. DO NOT use the main entrance of the school; instead parents and guests should use the Auditorium entrance which is located on W. Cortez St., 1 block East of N. California Ave. The door is labeled “Assembly Hall / West Events” for both rehearsal and day of the show.
*Please note: all students will be entering the auditorium through Door 6A located at the end of the cul-de-sac on Cortez Ave. Students will not enter through the door in the parking lot on the day of the recital and the rehearsal*

Costume Distribution & Care
Costumes will be distributed in class, leading up to the recital. Please keep the following in mind:
Costumes will be sent home with dancers after everyone has tried on their costume.
Please keep costumes in a safe place and avoid wearing them until recital day to ensure they remain in perfect condition.
Costumes may be hung to air out and steamed if needed. Please use a garment steamer or hang in a bathroom with a hot shower running.
Please do not iron or wash the costume.
Any alterations needed are the responsibility of the parents/guardians.
Music House is not liable if a costume is damaged or lost.
Performance Hair Options
Unless specified by the teacher, all dancers should have their hair secured neatly away from the face and off the neck.
For dancers with long or mid-length hair, options include...
Ballet Bun
Braided low bun
For dancers with textured hair, options can include...
Bantu knots
Sleek high poof
Boxed braids
For dancers with hair too short for a bun, options can include...
Gel or bobby pins cross-pinned to secure hair away from the face
Small ponytail(s)
Recital Participation Fee
The Winter Recital Participation Fee is $120 per class and will be charged to your account on November 15, 2025. If your child will NOT be participating in the recital, please complete this opt out form before November 15, 2025.
