Dance Classes Return to the Studio!

You heard that right! We are so excited to announce that starting September 19th, we will be offering small group in-person classes on select days and times with your favorite teachers! A survey with a sample schedule was sent out to all dance families!

Please note that special safety measures will be put in place to ensure the safety of all teachers and families.

New Faces

Ms. Rachel

Some of you may remember Ms. Rachel from The Nutcracker or know her from Music House Dance Company. We are so excited to announce that starting this Fall, Ms. Rachel will be teaching all Saturday classes at our Humboldt Park studio!

Ms. Rachel is a dance instructor with Music House, and works with the Music House Dance Company. She previously studied Dance Theory and Performance at Middle Tennessee State University and moved to Chicago to pursue teaching and performance opportunities. Rachel enjoys exploring new challenges, learning new techniques, and working with Music House students who inspire her to move!

Ms. Ginny

Ms. Ginny is a new face in our studios so please help us wishing her a warm welcome to Music House! Ms. Ginny began dancing at the age of three and studied several techniques of ballet including Cecchetti and Balanchine. She also has experience in jazz, pointe, modern, and contemporary. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a minor in dance. During her university experience, she was lucky enough to travel abroad and take ballet/modern classes in Moscow, Russia and West African classes in Senegal, Africa. Ms. Ginny enjoys traveling, learning new dance techniques and their cultural context, and teaching students the joy of dancing. When teaching, she creates a supportive environment to help students build strong technique and artistry. She is so excited to teach at Music House this year!

New Programs

Adaptive Dance at Music House

Music House's Adaptive Dance Program offers everyone the opportunity to dance! Designed for students of all ages with differing abilities and mobilities we will explore various kinds of dance including creative movement, ballet, jazz, and hip hop. Dancers will play games and collaborate to create dances that can be shared with family and friends. Dancers will develop movement and rhythmic skills through a fun and safe online environment.

Indian Kathak Dance at Music House

Storytelling is something that we all do naturally.

But, to be a good storyteller one needs to master the skill to express eloquently. Learn Kathak (Indian Classical Dance Form) to sharpen your creative expression through rhythmic footwork and body movements, facial expressions and enhanced mind-body coordination.

Students will learn to deliver their own voice with effortless grace, soulful expressions and subtle intricate movements.

Also, get the flavor of the diverse Indian culture by exploring Bollywood, Indian Semi-classical, and Indian traditional Folk.

Music House Dance Company

Music House Dance Company hit the ground running this summer. They have been learning all about a choreographer by the name of Merce Cunningham and his use of chance in creating dances!

We want YOU to consider joining this unique, collaborative group. We ask that all dancers interested in joining attend a class session as an "audition." To schedule your audition, please email info@musichouseinc.com
