Why Music House Believes Performing Arts Education Is For Everyone
We know that Performing Arts Education is developmentally beneficial for all students (just read the many articles we’ve written about it below!). We also know that our students may have vastly different goals. And that’s okay!
Is learning the violin your singular activity, and you hope to one day audition to become a Music Major in college? That’s great! We have the resources and expertise to help you get there!
Do you love to dance, but know that you have other priorities (baseball, drama, etc), so you’re here to have fun and see how far you can go? We support you too! And we believe you too deserve to learn and gain the benefits of a performing arts education.
We challenge our students to work hard and put in the effort to reach their goals – not the goals of the student across the hall, and not our goals for them. And we tailor our lessons and class recommendations to fit these goals!
How do we make classes for everyone?
Belief that “every child can'': We truly believe that every student has the potential to learn when given a positive, nurturing environment. And every student can receive the social, emotional, and cognitive benefits of arts education!
Listen to students/goals: We know that arts education is not one size fits all! Every student is unique, and we make sure to teach the student in front of us, tailoring lessons to fit their needs and goals!
Hire teachers with the same mission: While our teachers are all unique in personality and teaching style, our philosophy remains the same: the goal is not to raise professional artists, but to teach character and nurture loving individuals through performing arts education.
