Why We’re Launching Our First Online Adult Spanish Class at Music House

A Personal Note from Ashley Trumbo, Business Director

Hi Music House community! Ashley Trumbo here :).

One thing I am personally very passionate about is learning languages, especially Spanish.

Living and working in Chicago, where Spanish is so widely spoken across our neighborhoods, schools, and families, I truly believe that building even a basic ability to communicate in Spanish helps us become more connected, inclusive, and community-centered.

Across Chicago and throughout the U.S., Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages. Having the ability to greet, connect with, and support families in their preferred language can make a meaningful difference — whether in schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, or everyday life.

For us at Music House, connection and community are at the heart of everything we do, and language is such a powerful way to deepen that connection.

Introducing Our First Online Adult Spanish Class

I am so excited that we are launching our very first Online Adult Beginner Spanish Class at Music House.

This live Zoom class is designed for adults who are:

  • starting from the very beginning

  • looking for a refresher

  • hoping to build confidence in real conversation

  • interested in learning Spanish for work, travel, family, or community connection

  • Looking to have fun!

Our class is beginner-friendly, supportive, and immersive.

Whether you took Spanish years ago in school and need a refresh, or this is your very first time learning, this class is designed to help you start speaking right away in a welcoming environment.

Learn Alongside a Community

One of the things I’m most excited about is the sense of community this class can create. At Music House, community is one of our core values and this class gives adult learners a chance to grow a new skill while connecting with others who are also learning. Our wonderful instructor Elijah will be leading the course!

Language learning is one meaningful way we can continue building a more inclusive and community-centered organization.

I believe even learning simple phrases and conversational basics can help us strengthen relationships throughout our Chicago community.

I’m so excited to continue building this at Music House and hope you’ll join us.

¡Nos vemos en clase!
