  • Early Childhood Violin Classes Brought Directly to Your Preschool or Daycare

Our Pre-Twinkle Suzuki-style violin class introduces children ages 3.5–5 to the joy of violin through a playful, developmentally appropriate approach designed especially for early learners.

In this foundational music class, students begin by learning violin posture, bow hold, rhythm, listening skills, and musical vocabulary using foam practice violins and child-safe training bows. These tools help young children build confidence and proper technique in a hands-on, low-pressure environment before transitioning to a real instrument.

Inspired by the Suzuki method, this class emphasizes listening, repetition, movement, and engaging music-making. Children develop the foundational skills needed for future violin study while strengthening focus, coordination, and fine motor development.

    What Children Learn

In an engaging, supportive, fun, and positive environment, students will explore:

    • Proper violin posture and instrument position

    • Bow hold and movement

    • Listening and ear training

    • Rhythm and beat recognition

    • Musical games and movement activities

    • Finger readiness and hand positioning

    • Beginning Suzuki “Pre-Twinkle” concepts

    • Classroom participation and confidence-building

    Graduating to a Real Violin

As students demonstrate readiness, confidence, and foundational technique, they graduate from foam violins to real child-sized violins, allowing them to begin producing sound and continue their musical growth.

This gradual transition helps ensure that children build strong habits and feel excited and successful as they begin playing a real instrument.

What you Can Expect from Our Classes

Every class is designed to be fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for young learners. Through singing, movement, rhythm games, creative exploration, and age-appropriate technique, children build confidence while discovering the excitement of the performing arts.

Our teachers are highly trained, experienced teaching artists who specialize in working with young children. They know how to create warm, energetic classrooms where every child feels encouraged to participate, explore, and grow.

Families and school staff can also expect strong communication and continuity beyond the classroom. We provide parent notes sent home regularly, which may include:

  • Class highlights and skills covered

  • Songs and movement activities from class

  • Audio recordings for listening at home

  • Video examples and practice support

  • Tips for continuing the learning at home

This helps families stay connected to what their child is learning and gives children the opportunity to continue building confidence and excitement between classes.

Most importantly, our classes are designed so that children leave each session saying, “I can’t wait to come back!”
