About Ms. Bethany:
Ms. Bethany is a highly experienced and nurturing Suzuki violin teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience. She specializes in violin lessons for kids and adults of all ages, beginners, and advancing students, using the Suzuki Method to help students build strong musical foundations in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Her students have gone on to earn placements in prestigious ensembles such as the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra and the Kentucky All-State Orchestra, as well as receiving scholarships and awards for their musical achievements. Ms. Bethany was also recognized as the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) Kentucky Studio Teacher of the Year in 2024, reflecting her dedication to excellence in music education.
Ms. Bethany believes that every child can learn music. Her teaching approach focuses on learning through listening, singing, and playing, breaking skills into manageable steps that build confidence and create beautiful music. While her students develop strong violin technique, her deeper goal is to help them grow into confident, creative, and expressive individuals who love music.
She emphasizes the importance of a positive home learning environment, encouraging families to be part of the musical journey and support their child’s progress.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Bethany is an active performer and has played as a first violinist and Principal 2nd violinist with the Lexington Community Orchestra. She currently performs with the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest.
When she’s not teaching or performing, Ms. Bethany enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, and relaxing with their cats, Dyna and Poppy.
