About Elijah:
Elijah Cox (he/him) is an actor, writer, and educator originally from Michigan who brings a well-rounded, real-world perspective into his musical theatre classes. He has taught theatre to students across the Midwest and is a company member with PlayMakers Laboratory, where he teaches creative writing and supports students in developing their artistic voices.

As a performer, Elijah has appeared onstage with respected Chicago theatre companies including Steep Theatre, Red Theater, Three Crows Theatre, and City Lit Theater. His credits include THE PILON (Red Theater, understudy, Jeff Award nominee for Best Ensemble), IONÉU (Athenaeum Center), VALHALLA (The Plagiarists), and ZÜRICH (Steep, understudy), among others. His short play Admittance was also published by Southeast Missouri State Press.

Elijah’s classes focus on building a strong foundation in musical theatre performance, including vocal technique, music fundamentals, and choreography, while also developing essential life skills like focus, patience, confidence, and collaboration. He believes in exposing students to a wide range of musical theatre styles to help them grow as versatile and well-rounded performers.
