About Mr. Shi:
Mr. Shi is a multifaceted musician with experiences performing with different orchestras and chamber music groups in the area. He was born and raised in Hong Kong, and has been living in Chicago since 2022.

Mr. Shi received pedagogy training in the Suzuki method during his graduate studies at Roosevelt University, where he worked with two different teacher trainers. He believes that any student can learn to play the violin, and he helps each student achieve their goals by tailoring learning progress to and instilling confidence in each of them. His goal is to train students to become self-sufficient and self-motivated musicians by developing problem solving skills which facilitates more effective practicing, and to motivate them by cultivating an interest and an appreciation of music.
