Jackson Renda

A native of Rockport, Massachusetts, Jackson Renda (he/him) grew up listening to Joni Mitchell records and playing in jazz bars while he studied under saxophonist Alexa Tarantino and Berklee College of Music Instructor James Murphy.

Now based in Chicago, Jackson Renda holds a Bachelor of Music and Music Business from Columbia College Chicago, where he studied drums under jazz luminary, Charles Rick Heath IV.

Jackson has toured nationally as a drummer from jazz to punk, and hip-hop to folk. He performs regularly in various performance settings, including studio sessions, festivals, clubs, and theater productions. His expertise in music theory, history, and dedication to the drums underscore his commitment to fostering a creative and welcoming space for all musicians.

As a private instructor, Jackson aims to inspire and educate aspiring musicians through instructional methods rooted in musical traditions, with the principal philosophy that we are all born musicians. He is devoted to cultivating a collaborative environment where students at all stages can grow, share their passion for rhythm, and develop their musical vocabulary and authenticity. As an educator, Jackson explores the rich tapestry of our shared musical heritage and empowers individuals to reach their full potential.
