Move Together: Why Community Matters in Dance

Dance is so much more than learning choreography or mastering technique. It's about belonging. At Music House, we believe some of the most meaningful moments happen when dancers encourage one another, celebrate each other's successes, and grow together both inside and outside the studio.

That's why we're so excited to kick off the 2026–2027 Dance Season with our 2nd Annual Move Together Festival!

This special event is our annual dance community-building celebration, designed to bring together Music House dancers of all ages before classes are fully underway. This year, we've moved the festival to September to better accommodate summer schedules, and we can't wait to welcome our dance families for an afternoon full of creativity, collaboration, and fun.

What to Expect

The Move Together Festival is all about helping dancers build friendships, gain confidence, and feel like part of the Music House family from day one. Throughout the afternoon, dancers will participate in a variety of activities designed to encourage teamwork, creativity, and plenty of laughter.

3:00 PM – Festival Kickoff

  • Icebreaker games

  • Relay races

  • Team-building activities

3:20 PM – Meet Your Team

  • Grab a drink from the cooler.

  • Meet your teammates and get ready to create together.

3:30 PM – Collaborate & Choreograph

  • Work together to create original choreography with fellow dancers.

  • Share ideas, solve creative challenges, and bring your team's dance to life.

3:50 PM – Snack Break

  • Snacks provided by Music House!

4:00 PM – Choreography Showcase

  • Cheer on your fellow dancers who created choreography at home to share at Move Together Festival!

4:30 PM – Dance 2026-2027 Performance Season *Reveal* 

  • Learn about exciting events and performances planned for the 2026–2027 Dance Season.

4:50 PM – Closing Celebration

  • Group dance, and one final celebration before we kick off another incredible season.

Why We Move Together

Creating a welcoming dance community doesn't happen by chance. It happens through shared experiences. The Move Together Festival gives students the opportunity to:

  • Meet dancers from different classes and age groups.

  • Build friendships before classes begin.

  • Participate in fun games and collaborative dance challenges.

  • Express their creativity in a supportive environment.

  • Celebrate one another's accomplishments.

  • Get excited for everything the new dance season has in store.

These connections help students feel more comfortable walking into class, trying new things, and supporting one another throughout rehearsals, performances, and every milestone along the way.

Whether your child is taking their very first dance class or returning for another season, they are an important part of our Music House family. We are committed to creating an environment where every dancer feels welcomed, encouraged, and inspired to grow as both an artist and a person.

The Move Together Festival is more than just a fun afternoon! it's the beginning of another year filled with friendship, creativity, confidence, and unforgettable memories.
